If you want to preserve Elf in your memories as a family-friendly showcase for Will Ferrell's comedic sensibilities, then I suggest you stop reading immediately. Why? Because Screen Junkies' "honest trailer" for the beloved holiday film just might ruin how you see Buddy the Elf forever. If you're a cotton-headed ninny-muggins, however, proceed.
In the admittedly hilarious take on the endlessly quotable movie, it's explained that Buddy is a man "abandoned by his mother after a one-night stand" who goes in search of his father in New York City, who "thinks he's mentally ill and wants nothing to do with him." That specific plot line is why "it kinda sounds like a Joker movie," according to Screen Junkies, but honestly . . . we have to agree.
