This week, Idris Elba was crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive, but as if that title wasn't enough for him, he went on to campaign for World's Best Dad, too. And although I can't quite see through the fog building up on my computer screen from all this radiating heat, I think he's well on his way to also winning that title.
"I'm super doting as a dad," the British actor, who is father to daughter Isan, 16, and son Winston, 4, said in an interview with People. "Big hugs, kisses, lots of love-yous and all of that."
Somehow, though, his kids find this embarrassing. "I'm sure my daughter's like, 'All right, Dad, chill out,'" he said. "My son, he gets it. But he's still at that age where he loves to cuddle."
Idris also revealed that his kids take after him, personality-wise.
"My children are extremely shy, and I'm quite shy in reality," he says. "Both my children overthink everything. [My fiancée,] Sabrina, and I have a joke: 'What's the backstory?' Because I'm always asking. 'There's no backstory. The pizza's late.' 'But why? What's he doing?' And my children share that trait. We just over-analyze."
And although he's likely honored to receive the Sexiest Man Alive title, he's first to admit that it pales in comparison to the joy that fatherhood has brought him. In fact, he said his happiest moments were when his two kids were born:
"Just watching that whole process come to life - being witness to the birth of my children, happy and healthy - is the biggest, biggest, most best thing ever."
Yep, that's the stuff.
