My Husband and I Redid Our Honeymoon With Our Toddler in Tow - This Is What Happened

Ten years ago, my husband and I had our honeymoon in Canada. While not the typical honeymoon destination, we found it was part adventure, part foodie-fun, and an exciting celebration of our new lives together. We kayaked and surfed, I ate myself sick in not one but three of British Columbia's finest restaurants, and I got close enough to almost pet a black bear on the side of the road. It was perfect.

When I first suggested a 10th anniversary redo of our honeymoon with our high energy and (very) early rising toddler, my husband looked at me with nostalgic enthusiasm tempered with complete fear. But the delightful memories of the city of Vancouver, the pristine beaches of Tofino, and the luxury of Whistler outweighed our concerns about revisiting it with a 3-year-old. I quickly traded in my bridal shower lingerie for the portable travel potty and we set out to see if we could recreate the magic. Here are five things I discovered in our attempt to find adventure and romance with a bedtime before 8 p.m.
