In case you somehow missed it, Tom Hanks was just cast as Mr. Rogers in an upcoming biopic. Naturally the internet has a lot of feelings about it, because Hollywood could not have picked a better person to play Fred Rogers, the sweet children's show host we all grew up with.
According to Variety, the film, titled You Are My Friend, will be inspired by "a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod. In the story, a cynical journalist begrudgingly accepts an assignment to write a profile piece on the beloved icon and finds his perspective on life transformed."
You Are My Friend is likely still years from coming out, but somehow it's already my favorite movie of all time. I'm not alone in thinking that, either - just take a look at the hilarious and wholesome tweets ahead.
