The internet has been in a collective frenzy since Beyoncé blessed us all with her new album The Lion King: The Gift on July 19, but one song from the project that really has people buzzing is "BROWN SKIN GIRL." The four-minute track is an upbeat ode to black women and all of their beauty, so it's no wonder why it quickly became a favorite for fans all over the internet. That includes actress Lupita Nyong'o, who shared the cutest video of herself dancing to the song on Friday.
The song sees Beyoncé literally singing the praises of a handful of black women in Hollywood. Along with a nod to Naomi Campbell and Kelly Rowland, she gives a quick shoutout to Lupita herself. "Pose like a trophy when Naomis walks in / She need an Oscar for that pretty dark skin / Pretty like Lupita when the cameras close in / Drip broke the levee when my Kellys roll in," Bey sings in the first verse. Not surprisingly, the name check lead to the Oscar winner to celebrating the lyric on Instagram with a video filled with so much black girl joy, I can't even handle it. "Brown Skin Girl. Thank you @Beyonce for this Gift!! #BrightnessIsJustWhoYouAre," she captioned the post.
Check out Lupita's video above, and head over to Spotify to listen to the whole 27-track album.
