If you thought ladies' weekend at the spa was an experience you couldn't believe, wait until you check out hunting season at The Manor in this first teaser for upcoming action-thriller, The Hunt. The film follows 12 strangers who wake up in a clearing with no clue where they are or how they got there. What they also don't know is that they've been selected for one specific purpose . . . the Hunt. If you're getting serious Most Dangerous Game vibes, you're not far off.
Written by Lost cocreator Damon Lindelof with The Leftovers collaborator Nick Cuse, The Hunt is about more than just a really fancy place where people go to hunt other people - though that is definitely a major point of the plot. The film follows a group of globalist elites who have gathered at the Manor for the very first time. Their hunting plans hits a major bump when one of the people being hunted, Crystal (Glow's Betty Gilpin), turns the tables on them. She knows the game better than them and she's out to make her way to the very top, to the mysterious woman at the center of it all. Though there's no sign of the star-studded cast in the trailer, Gilpin is joined by Ike Barinholtz, Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, and Oscar-winner Hilary Swank as the woman behind it all.
The brief teaser sets the tone for the film, but considering it's produced by Jason Blum (The Purge and Get Out), there's definitely more to be seen. We'll just have to sit tight for our next look at The Hunt, before the film hits theaters on Sept. 27.
